His name is Parker and he's a German Shepherd mix. He is around six years old and we got him from the pound.

I think the rain is starting to get to me. I was supposed to play softball for the last three weeks but I can't cause its been rained out. I find myself thinking and laughing out loud at old "Newsradio" scenes with Phil Hartman, and Andy Dick. Man I love that show.

I decided to let my inner monologue skits with historical characters die. It was getting boring to write. I think I enjoy thinking about historical characters being vulgar and crass. It cracks me up when I think of Edison as a foul mouthed drunkard.

I'm going to see the Astros play against the Mets tonight. I hope I get to see some fireworks

Jeff

ps

I'll be in Irvine from Aug 30th to Sept 5th. It's guy love between two guys.

Ok I'm back. I am getting bored of the standard blog procedure. You know what I'm talking about noble blog reader. Me starting off with a lame joke, then bitching and moaning, and then me sobbing for twenty minutes in a corner praying that the peanut butter jar isn't empty for my midnight consolation snack. That hole will never be filled with food Jeff.

I've decide to explain what is going in my life with a cast of historical figures. They will help me explain my thoughts and feelings to the world. So without further ado, let me introduce my new best friends:

Thomas Edison is a famous American inventor. Best known for his invention of the light bulb, he is also credited with numerous other discoveries such as the telegraph, and the carbon mircrophone which is used in all telephones. He also fathered 6 children (that we know of) with two different women. Say hi there Mr. Edison.

Thomas Edison (TE): Blow it out of your ass there Jeff.

A little rude, Mr. Edison, a little rude. Moving on we have Confucius. Confucius is a famous Chinese thinker and social philosopher who's ideas have influenced Eastern culture. He also enjoys back rubs and occasionally likes to git r' done. Confucius you're up.

Confucius (Conf): Confucius say's hello and to eat your greens, and respect your elders, and be humble, and...

That's enough there Confucius. I swear once you get that guy going he'll never shut up. Trust me. Lastly, for today, Chewbacca. I know what you're saying Chewie is not a real historical figure. Listen people! Just because he was born in a galaxy far, far away does not exclude him from the historical society. He was, after all born a long time ago. Chewie, go ahead.

Chewie: Mrrrrouwmpgh!!! Mrrrrrrrrrooooouwwwmogggggghhhh. Mrrr.

Yes, yes Chewie we know you love to watch Trading Spaces in your spare time.

So that's the crew for now. So let me tell you what's going on in my life in the new and improved Thoughts from Cerebro v.2.

Jeff Hou (JH): So guys I got a new job in Houston! And I'm going to London on Saturday for training! Isn't that exciting?

TE: I always hated London. It's always raining.

Conf: Confucius says that rain is good for crop like discipline is for child. For you see...

TE: O shut the fuck up Confucius! Always with the rain and children and the fucking discipline!!!

JH: Mr. Edison there is no reason to...

TE: Why "Mr. Hou"? if that is what you actually are. I mean for gods sake what sort of man watches Project Runway? and a marathon of Project Runway for that matter. Don't you tell your best friend that you love him on numerous occasions?

Chewie: Mrrr Mrrr Mrrr.

JH: Laugh it up fuzzball! It's a good show! And it doesn't mean what you're thinking it means!

TE: Sure Annabelle. Sure.

JH: I hate you Mr. Edison. I hate you.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://tucanos.blogspot.com/2007/01/theres-nothing-gay-about-it-in-our.html' title='There's nothing gay about it in our eyes. This is from July of 2003:

"Alright jeff here we go:

so jeff and i use to have "beef" we
don't why or what it was about, but
we "squashed" it. Just like I squash
him at Virtua Tennis BOOYAH GRANDMA !
Anyways, the cool thing about jeff is
that he is one of the most
understanding people there are out
there. He very rarely acts without
kindness or the eternal of flame of
love for mankind in his heart. Jeff
deserves the best of everything in this
world. For those of you reading this,
be prepared for one of the people in
this world who is NOT AFRAID TO BE
HIMSELF. I think that's probably why I
like him so much. Even though I give
him crap sometimes for his goofiness I
love him for that. SHHHHHHHHH tell NO
one. It was good seeing him again. He is heading out for a trip to Taiwan soon. Every time I see him I'm afraid it may be the last. Is that morbid? So if there are random H's missing I apologize.

So on Saturday Me, Hayley, Jennifer C, and Laura spent eight hours watching Project Runway. Some of you may not think this was as awesome as it was, but let me assure you that it was pretty awesome. My favorite designer would have to be Daniel V. His stuff looks pretty good. (I AM TOTALLY NOT GAY!)

I haven't been to Capoeira in a while. I've been feeling pretty lazy lately, plus I had a massive amount of work to do last week. I need to start getting back. My +1 to dexterity has been slowly fading.

Graduation is coming up for me. I'll admit I'm a little intimidated by that idea. It'll be the first time in 18 years that I won't be going to school. That idea is nice, but I'll miss the college lifestyle. On top of that I have to find a job. I have an internship right now that may turn into something, but who knows? The places I've been looking don't seem to have any openings or I don't really want to relocate to that particular state (if anybody has connections LET ME KNOW PLEASE?!?!). There are three places I have my heart set on: Texas (preferably Dallas, Houston, Austin, or San Antonio), NYC, or San Francisco.

I want to work in comics or something nerdy. I've been a nerd (geek, dork, spaz, wanker, etc.) my entire life so I think I'm well prepared to work with people who prefer florescent lighting than real sunlight. I'm really nervous about not being able to find a job after college. I want to help my family out, and I want to be able to be independent from my parents. I think the idea of actually being on my own is what's making me antsy.

Anyways that's what's been up with me.

O YA! This Saturday (9/30) San Marcos trip!!!! Let me know if you want to go!!!! We'll set up rides!

I CANT FIND MY FUCKING KEYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who's got the crack?

I AM 23 YEARS OLD TODAY!

I honestly didn't think I would make it this long.

Love is a burning thing...

I have found the greatest bar in San Antonio. It's called the Martini Club. The guy who owns it has a three man band consisting of himself on guitar, trumpet, saxophone. He also has a drummer, and a keyboard's. All they do is play classic country songs, and oldies, and he sounds great!!!! When he sang Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash I could've sworn it was the man in black himself!! But what blew my mind was when he switched to Neil Diamond, and Willie Nelson!!!!

Baboon + 5 if you ever make it out here to San Antonio that is where we are spending our time. I have been a huge fan of this show for the last two years. The movie was an excellent adaptation of the radio show. I loved seeing some of those characters brought to life by amazing actors and actresses. It sent chills down my spine when I heard the opening chords of the theme song for Guy Noir. Woody Harrelson and John C. Reilly were hilarious as the trail hands. If you haven't seen the movie I would highly recommend seeing it.

Hey porter, hey porter it's getting light outside.

This may be the greatest website in the known universe! Exciting news! I have a new laptop! It's a macbook. It is literally the greates thing ever! Now I can be online during class. I love it.

The second peice of good news is that I get to go to New York in August! It's shaping up to be another trip with all of my cousins. Raina (cousin) titled the trip "The Cousins Take Manhatten!" Honestly the only things I want to do is visit some museums, take 1-2 classes of capoeira, and see if I would like living in the city.

Thats about all. Oh ya! I've gotten addicted to a show caled Robot Chicken. If ya'll have never seen it I strongly urge you to watch it. I think I'm going to go watch Superman tonight. I've heard mixed reviews. I dunno I'll let you know.

Zum Zum Zum Capoeira Mata Um

Batizado is finally over. Thank God. Don't get me wrong, I loved every second of it but seven strait days of Capoeira takes its toll on the body. We had a bunch of different instructors come in from different parts of the country and world. For example country-Mestre Ze Com Fome who came from Brazil.

He is one big dude. He is not part of our Capoeira group but is a very close friend to our group Someone told me he used to fight in UFC. Every time he saw me he would bow to me like I was some sort of Kung Fu master. My friends thought that was messed up and I should say something. Look at the picture again. You say something to him! He was a really nice guy though. It was all in good fun.

Another esteemed member of the Capoeira community that showed up was Mestre Loboa. He comes from Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The man has been a mestre since 1982! I wasn't even born yet! He ran a really tough workshop. First thing he had us do was two sets of 50 crunches. Then 2 more sets of 50 crunches that worked each side of your abs. Then 50 sets of ab exercises, 4 sets of 30 calf raises, 1 set of 50 calf raises, then 50 push ups, 5 minutes of ginga, and 5 minutes of moving around the floor. That was tough.

All in all it was a good batizado. I am now a yellow and white cord!

There are more pics but I don't feel like posting them. Maybe that's an understatement. I guess I'll start with how my life has been going.

Its been ok. I started a new job as an intern with Munoz Public Relations. They have some pretty big name clients, chiefly Ford Motor Company. They also do some side work with Proctor & Gamble and also a group of reknowned mariachis, Marichi Vargas. We just recently did a media screening for an IMAX film centered around the global history of the Cowboy. It was a learning experience.

Leslie has left for London. Well she is still in Houston but for all intense and purposes she's gone for the summer. So it's just me by my lonesome till she gets back. Capoeira has been going good. My batizado is coming up (June 10th if yall wanna come, call me for details.)

The thing about Capoeira is that it teaches you things. Many of you might say what can guys doing a bunch of flips and kicks teach you? You would be surprised by the answer. (Ok obviously you wouldn't be surprised due to the nature of the question. Shut up I'm making a point.) It has exposed how insecure I am with my abilities. This problem has plagued me for awhile. Even when I led worship it used to get to me. I was never confident in my musical ability. This problem has only intensified with physical ability. I'm still not confident in the way my body moves. I still get really nervous before I jump into the roda causing me to make stupid mistakes.

I guess to sum it all up I've been doing some thinking. I'm nervous of making large moves. I'm scared of taking the next step. I want to move out of Texas but I've made a nice little rut here. I don't know if I want to leave it. I guess I've just been feeling a little blue. Not sad, but like after you listen to a song by a good jazz musician. Melancholy. Anyways after that Charlie Brown post I'm going to go to sleep. I promise I didn't write this to get attention. I PROMISE!

Cause it makes me that much stronger, Makes me work a little bit harder, Makes me that much wiser, So thanks for making me a fighter

Lijay and I had previously discussed what we thought constitutes a sport. And the two criteria that we decided need to be met are that:

1. There needs to be some way to adversely affect your opponent actions or gameplay, through your own actions or gameplay.
2. There needs to be an objective scoring system.

This conversation then ensued:

-Jeff: Do you think boxing is a sport? Because you can win by KO. But you can also win by judgment and the scoring is subjective.

-Lijay: Yes, I think boxing is a sport, but I think it's a little gay.

-Jeff: What?! How can it be gay?

-Lijay:Topless muscular men prancing in silk shorts, fighting for a belt and "purse".

-Jeff: Seems right up your alley.

-Lijay- I start training next week.

I'm a honkey tonk man.

I miss going two-stepping. I mean on my first day of school my mom thought it was a good idea to put me in knee high socks, overalls cut off at the knees, and a big straw floppy farmers hat. I never really stood a chance.

Last week I started down a path I vowed I would never take. I started collecting comic books. Now some of you might ask "Jeff didn't you already do that?" The answer to that question is no. I never actually collected comic books. I collected trade paper backs. For those of you who don't know trade paper backs are the collected run of a series. So for example volume one of the Green Arrow trade paper back collects issues 1-9.

Now this is sad for so many reasons. I will undoubtedly spend hours in comic book shops. I will immerse myself in grimy rooms reeking of B.O. surrounded by people who lose themselves in games of Heroclix and Star Wars Miniatures while I frantically look through boxes filled with cheap paper enclosed in plastic sleeves with acid-free cardboard backs. All this searching will leave me with a few moments of triumph when I pull issue #47 of Fables. My head will fill with useless comic book trivia. For instance did you know that Mysterio's helmet has its own half hour oxygen supply?

But being a geek isn't all that bad. Usually anywhere you go in the USA you have some sort of community. Usually that community shies away from natural light, but its better then nothing. Some of my best friends are geeks. In fact some of the best memories that I have are with people who I consider geeks. If your name isn't Arya, Robby, or Leslie you fall in that category. (Not to worry. Y'all are associated with good memories as well.)

Anyway that's what I've been doing with my life as of late. I think I'm ready for a change pretty soon.

Your results:
You are Chekov

Chekov

70%

James T. I thought it was going to be a quiet night with just me and Leslie. But we decided that we wanted to go out. So I called my cousin Leway and my friend Michael to see if they wanted to go to a bar. A couple of Leway's friends as well as Leslie's friend Kristi joined us. We ended up going to a place called the Bombay Bicycle Club. It was a neat little club with a lot of people. I had a Bud Light. It was cool because it had a rodeo cowboy on the bottle. I think because the San Antonio Stockshow and Rodeo is coming soon.

We decided that we wanted to go somewhere quieter. We made our way over to Hooligans Sportsbar and Grill. Leway met a waitress there, but he didn't get her number like I told him to. Smuck. I met a nice Long Island Iced Tea. We talked for a little bit before I realized that it wouldn't work out. Long distance relationships rarely do. After beating Michael at air hockey, 7-4, we decided to go back to Leway's place.

We sat around and drank some more. The guys had Romeo y Julieta cigars. That's where we made fun of Leeway for being gay. Here are some excerpts:
-You know what Leway's favorite food is?
-Sausage
-You know what his favorite sausage is?
-Jimmy Dean
-You know what Leway's favorite rice dish is?
-White on rice
-You know what his favorite soda is?
-Squirt

We ended the night with Wedding Crashers. I've seen that movie like eight times now and it's still really funny. I didn't think it would be but it is. Anyways it was a fun night but a boring blog entry. Weird huh?

These old boots still got a lot of ground they haven't covered yet.

To tell y'all the truth I only started this blog so I could be cool and funny like my friend Robbie, but when I sat down to write down a funny post I realized that I'm not that funny. That was sad. In fact it was the saddest moment of my life. Well not really the saddest moment of my life, but it was sorta disappointing. Actually it wasn't really disappointing but a lesser shade of disappointing. I don't know the word. But it made me realize I needed to stop wasting my days watching Justice League Unlimited episodes and wishing I had my modded Xbox back. Man I miss that Xbox.

I did make it to Capoeira class tonight. This is the third time I've gone this week. Three straight nights of Capoeira takes its toll on the body. My back, legs, shoulders, triceps, and other muscle groups that I didn't even know I had are sore. It's getting hard to do simple things like move my mouse so I can start the fifth season of Justice League Unlimited. *NERD ALERT, PLEASE REMAIN CALM*. In the fourth season the Justice League just made the ultra-secret government agency, Cadmus, realize it was being duped by Lex Luthor. But it all worked out due to the heroism and quick thinking of the Flash. Who might I add nearly merged with the Speed Force fighting a Brainiac and Lex Luthor amalgam. *NERD ALERT ENDING IN 3...2...1...* I can almost do a back tuck. I can do a back Handspring but I wouldn't try it without a spotter.

That's all I got for now. Robbie I'm still working on that section for you. I'll try to get it done over the weekend.

I guess I'll be seeing you down the road.

Sun downs coming round, baby lets get crazy now, crazy west Texas moon

Hey guys.
